A recurring theme from meetings with business and residents is that pedestrians are increasingly at danger from the small minority of other road-users, which unfortunately also includes cyclists. This matter has been raised by me at the highest level in the City of London Police and I am assured that the police will make a visible effort to bolster their existing work to enforce against any cyclists who ride in a manner that poses a risk to pedestrians. Many of those raising this issue are also cyclists themselves, but the point they rightly make is that all road-users should show consideration for others. At times, the City roads are very congested with all traffic and the pedestrian as the most vulnerable user needs particular attention. I for one am looking forward to seeing the results of raising this issue up the agenda.
